My Favorite Things for September

A few of my favorite things this month

Something incredible has happened. I’m writing this while being uninterrupted by children, because my daughter has started PRESCHOOL! So while Frankie naps, I have time during the day to myself. What is this magic? I feel giddy with the possibilities.

On that positive note, I put together my favorite things this month. I love sharing with you, hearing your own favorites each month, and the boost of positivity it gives me thinking about what’s making me happy these days. Here we go!

7 of my favorite things this September

1. A Love Playlist

My husband and I started dating in the Fall, and we got married in September. I created this playlist as a bit of an ode to my husband and our 11 years together (7 married). You can listen to it on Apple or Spotify.

2. Glowscreen from Supergoop!

You know that I love a good multi-tasking product. This is a clean-ingredient sunscreen and moisturizer with very light coverage. If this is the only product I use once I hop out of the shower, I still have a glowing complexion all day. I’m seriously loving this right now. Check it out here.

3. My 2B Mindset Group

I’ve talked about the 2B Mindset program from Beachbody before. I love it so much that I’m hosting a one-month accountability and support group for those who want to do it with me!

The 2B Mindset program is the nutrition framework I’ve been using to lose 30lbs. The program itself is a video course that you do at your own pace, and it’s easily digestible (ha!). It’s all about small changes you can make over time to make a big difference in how you look at food and eating.

I haven’t done this in a long time, but I’m hosting a one-month accountability group for the program starting October 4th. The goal is to lose 10lbs 30 days, and to set you up for success after the month is over.

I love this program because it’s not about depriving yourself, and you don’t need to overhaul your life to get results… Working out is totally optional…Treats, sweets, and even alcohol is allowed (in moderation, of course)… It teaches you how to create simple habits that make a big difference.

Join me and other like-minded women who want to start Fall on the right foot by loving our bodies, eating well, and finding community around our goals. Join here.

4. Siete Almond Flour Tortillas

I grabbed these tortillas on a whim at Costco, and I think you can get them at Whole Foods as well. They are a great fibre-filled carb to keep you full, aid digestion, and are packed with nutrition - while tasting great! I use them for a little breakfast burrito in the morning with scrambled eggs, arugula, and salsa. The best part is that the kids like them too.

5. A Book About Sourdough

Speaking of carbs… Last year around this time, I began the journey of learning to make sourdough bread. It’s been such a joyful and slow process for me to learn. It’s quite simple, but I don’t recommend making your own starter. You can, but it takes a long time! So find a friend who makes sourdough, ask at a local bakery, or you can even order it online.

Making sourdough has become part of our routine, and my husband has even gotten involved. This book helped me to understand the process, and there are some really simple (and yummy) recipes inside to try.

6. Facebook Marketplace

This is your friendly reminder that Facebook Marketplace is amazing. We cleaned out our garage recently, and we sold and gave things away for free through Marketplace. It’s a great way to avoid things going to the landfill, and buying second-hand is better for our planet, as well.

7. The Jesus Storybook Bible

We have baby-bibles for the kids, but now that Hazel is getting older, she’s ready for something with a little more depth. We got The Storybook Bible on recommendation from a friend, and she loves it! The pictures are funny, and Hazel has been asking for it every day. So if you want to introduce faith to your kids but aren’t sure how, this is a great place to start.

Now tell me, what are you loving this September, other than back to school, of course!
